The Holy Quran 12:50 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱئْتُونِى بِهِۦ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُ ٱلرَّسُولُ قَالَ ٱرْجِعْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَسْـَٔلْهُ مَا بَالُ ٱلنِّسْوَةِ ٱلَّـٰتِى قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى بِكَيْدِهِنَّ عَلِيمٌ

Translation

(When the king was informed about the interpretation, he was extremely pleased and) The king said, "Bring him to me." When the messenger came to Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام he told him, “Return to your master and ask him what is the condition of the women who cut (repeatedly) their hands. Indeed my Rabb is well aware of their plot." (Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام wanted to clear his name with the public before coming out of prison.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال الملك لأعوانه: أخرجوا الرجل المعبِّر للرؤيا من السجن وأحضروه لي، فلما جاءه رسول الملك يدعوه قال يوسف للرسول: ارجع إلى سيدك الملك، واطلب منه أن يسأل النسوة اللاتي جرحن أيديهن عن حقيقة أمرهن وشأنهن معي; لتظهر الحقيقة للجميع، وتتضح براءتي، إن ربي عليم بصنيعهن وأفعالهن لا يخفى عليه شيء من ذلك.
