The Holy Quran 12:5 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ لَا تَقْصُصْ رُءْيَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ إِخْوَتِكَ فَيَكِيدُوا۟ لَكَ كَيْدًا ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

Translation

His father said, "O my (beloved) son! Do not relate this dream to your brothers, otherwise they will plot against you. Undoubtedly Shaytaan is an open enemy to man (do not tell them because Shaytaan may make them jealous of you when they learn the interpretation of your dream and he may tempt them to harm you)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال يعقوب لابنه يوسف: يا بني لا تذكر لإخوتك هذه الرؤيا فيحسدوك، ويعادوك، ويحتالوا في إهلاكك، إن الشيطان للإنسان عدو ظاهر العداوة.
