The Holy Quran 11:92 — Surah Hud

Arabic text

قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَرَهْطِىٓ أَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ وَرَآءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا ۖ إِنَّ رَبِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ

Translation

He (Shu'ayb عليه الصلاة والسلام) said, "O my people! Is my tribe more deserving of honour to you than Allaah Whom you have cast behind your backs (you have regard for me only because of the tribe I belong to rather than because of the fact that I am Allaah's Nabi)? Verily my Rabb surrounds all that you do (He knows all that you do and will take you to task for it for you can never escape His grasp)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال: يا قوم أعشيرتي أعزُّ وأكرم عليكم من الله؟ ونبذتم أمر ربكم فجعلتموه خلف ظهوركم، لا تأتمرون به ولا تنتهون بنهيه، إن ربي بما تعملون محيط، لا يخفى عليه من أعمالكم مثقال ذرة، وسيجازيكم عليها عاجلا وآجلا.
