The Holy Quran 11:89 — Surah Hud

Arabic text

وَيَـٰقَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِىٓ أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثْلُ مَآ أَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَـٰلِحٍ ۚ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍ

Translation

"O my people! Let not your opposition for me (refusal to accept guidance) cause the same punishment to afflict you as afflicted the nation of Nooh عليه الصلاة والسلام or the nation of Hood عليه الصلاة والسلام or the nation of Saalih عليه الصلاة والسلام. And the nation of Loot were not far off from you (in memory and location)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ويا قوم لا تحملنَّكم عداوتي وبغضي وفراق الدين الذي أنا عليه على العناد والإصرار على ما أنتم عليه من الكفر بالله، فيصيبكم مثلُ ما أصاب قوم نوح أو قوم هود أو قوم صالح من الهلاك، وما قوم لوط وما حلَّ بهم من العذاب ببعيدين عنكم لا في الدار ولا في الزمان.
