The Holy Quran 11:49 — Surah Hud

Arabic text

تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَآ إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَآ أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَـٰذَا ۖ فَٱصْبِرْ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْعَـٰقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Translation

This story of Nooh عليه الصلاة والسلام is from the accounts (knowledge) of the unseen that We inspire you with (O Rasulullaah ﷺ). You and your people were unlikely to have knowledge about this before (the coming of the Qur'aan). So be steadfast (continue preaching Islaam and patiently bear the harassment and tortures of the Kuffaar just as Nooh عليه الصلاة والسلام had done) ! Indeed the final outcome will be in favour of those who have Taqwa.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

تلك القصة التي قصصناها عليك -أيها الرسول- عن نوح وقومه هي من أخبار الغيب السالفة، نوحيها إليك، ما كنت تعلمها أنت ولا قومك مِن قبل هذا البيان، فاصبر على تكذيب قومك وإيذائهم لك، كما صبر الأنبياء من قبل، إن العاقبة الطيبة في الدنيا والآخرة للمتقين الذين يخشون الله.
