The Holy Quran 10:99 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَـَٔامَنَ مَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا ۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُكْرِهُ ٱلنَّاسَ حَتَّىٰ يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Translation

(O Muhammad ﷺ) If your Rabb willed, all those on earth would surely have Imaan (However, He knows best why He does not allow everyone to have Imaan). Will you force people (to accept Imaan, stopping at nothing) until they become Mu'mineen? (Your call is only to preach and not to force people. Therefore, do not be grieved when they reject Imaan because it is no fault of yours.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولو شاء ربك -أيها الرسول- الإيمان لأهل الأرض كلهم لآمنوا جميعًا بما جئتهم به، ولكن له حكمة في ذلك; فإنه يهدي من يشاء ويضل من يشاء وَفْق حكمته، وليس في استطاعتك أن تُكْره الناس على الإيمان.
