The Holy Quran 10:46 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

وَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ

Translation

If We were to show you (O Rasulullaah) a part of what (punishment) We have promised them (if We punish them during your lifetime), or (if) We were to claim your soul (before punishing them or without punishing them), then (in every event) their return shall be to Us. Then (in all circumstances) Allaah is Witness over what they do. (Therefore, whether wrongdoers are punished or not in this world, they will have to return to Allaah on the Day of Qiyaamah. He will then take them to task for their wrongdoing because no act of theirs escapes His attention.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإمَّا نرينَّك -أيها الرسول- في حياتك بعض الذي نَعِدُهم من العقاب في الدنيا، أو نتوفينك قبل أن نريك ذلك فيهم، فإلينا وحدنا يرجع أمرهم في الحالتين، ثم الله شهيد على أفعالهم التي كانوا يفعلونها في الدنيا، لا يخفى عليه شيء منها، فيجازيهم بها جزاءهم الذي يستحقونه.
