The Holy Quran 10:36 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنًّا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ

Translation

Most of them (Mushrikeen) follow only assumptions (by merely assuming that what their forefathers worshipped was true). Indeed (mere) assumption is of no significance against the truth. Without doubt Allaah has perfect knowledge of what you do.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما يتبع أكثر هؤلاء المشركين في جعلهم الأصنام آلهة واعتقادهم بأنها تقرِّب إلى الله إلا تخرصًا وظنًا، وهو لا يغني من اليقين شيئًا. إن الله عليم بما يفعل هؤلاء المشركون من الكفر والتكذيب.
