The Holy Quran 10:14 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ خَلَـٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لِنَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

Translation

Thereafter (after these people were destroyed) We made you successors on earth after them to see how you behave (to see whether you would learn a lesson from their wrongs or do what they did).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ثم جعلناكم -أيها الناس- خَلَفًا في الأرض من بعد القرون المُهْلَكة، لننظر كيف تعملون: أخيرًا أم شرًا، فنجازيكم بذلك حسب عملكم.
