Prayer on the roof of the mosque

Question

What is the ruling on performing the prayer on the roof that is above the mosque: in summer, the Maghrib, ‘Isha’ and Fajr prayers for the sake of coolness, and in winter for the sake of the sunshine? (a) Zayd says that it is makruh and cites Shami. How far is Zayd’s statement correct?

It is makruh.
