The Holy Quran 9:53 — Surah At-Tawbah

Arabic text

قُلْ أَنفِقُوا۟ طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا لَّن يُتَقَبَّلَ مِنكُمْ ۖ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ

Translation

Say (to the Munaafiqeen), "Spend happily (willingly) or reluctantly (for good causes). It will never be accepted from you (because you do not have Imaan). Indeed you have been disobedient people."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قل -أيها النبي- للمنافقين: أنفقوا أموالكم كيف شئتم، وعلى أي حال شئتم طائعين أو كارهين، لن يقبل الله منكم نفقاتكم; لأنكم قوم خارجون عن دين الله وطاعته.
