The Holy Quran 7:77 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

فَعَقَرُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰصَـٰلِحُ ٱئْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translation

So they stabbed (hamstrung) the camel, defying (turning away from) the command of their Rabb and said, "O Saalih! Bring upon us that (punishment) which you threaten us with if you are really from the Ambiyaa."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فنحروا الناقة استخفافا منهم بوعيد صالح، واستكبروا عن امتثال أمر ربهم، وقالوا على سبيل الاستهزاء واستبعاد العذاب: يا صالح ائتنا بما تتوعَّدنا به من العذاب، إن كنت مِن رسل الله.
