The Holy Quran 7:72 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Translation

So (when Allaah's punishment came in the form of a severe windstorm that lasted for 7 nights and eight days) We saved him and those who were with him by Our mercy and We cut off the roots of (completely destroyed) those who rejected Our Aayaat and who did not have Imaan.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فوقع عذاب الله بإرسال الريح الشديدة عليهم، فأنجى الله هودًا والذين آمنوا معه برحمة عظيمة منه تعالى، وأهلك الكفار من قومه جميعا ودمَّرهم عن آخرهم، وما كانوا مؤمنين لجمعهم بين التكذيب بآيات الله وترك العمل الصالح.
