The Holy Quran 7:56 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَـٰحِهَا وَٱدْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translation

Do not cause corruption on earth after it has been set in order (do not introduce customs and manners of kufr into Islaam and do not pollute and spoil the earth that Allaah has created perfectly) and call (pray to) Him in fear (of His punishment) and hope (for His mercy). Undoubtedly, the mercy of your Rabb is close to those who do good.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولا تُفْسدوا في الأرض بأيِّ نوع من أنواع الفساد، بعد إصلاح الله إياها ببعثة الرسل -عليهم السلام- وعُمْرانها بطاعة الله، وادعوه -سبحانه- مخلصين له الدعاء; خوفًا من عقابه ورجاء لثوابه. إن رحمة الله قريب من المحسنين.
