The Holy Quran 7:37 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰفِرِينَ

Translation

Who can be more unjust than he who invents lies against Allaah or rejects His Aayaat? These are the ones whose share of the Book (the Lowhul Mahfoodh) shall find them (they shall continue receiving their sustenance and other things that they are destined to receive in this world) until the time comes when Our messengers (the angels of death) will lift their souls saying, "Where are those (gods) whom you called upon (worshipped) besides Allaah?" They will admit, "They (our gods) have been lost to us (they cannot help us at all)," and (on this occasion of death) they will testify against themselves (they will admit) that they really (without doubt) were Kaafiroon.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لا أحد أشد ظلمًا ممن اختلق على الله تعالى الكذب، أو كذَّب بآياته المنزلة، أولئك يصل إليهم حظُّهم من العذاب مما كتب لهم في اللوح المحفوظ، حتى إذا جاءهم ملك الموت وأعوانه يقبضون أرواحهم قالوا لهم: أين الذين كنتم تعبدونهم من دون الله من الشركاء والأولياء والأوثان ليخلِّصوكم مما أنتم فيه؟
