The Holy Quran 7:204 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

Translation

When the Qur'aan is recited, then listen attentively to it (stop talking) and remain silent (let one read and others listen, as in Salaat) so that mercy may be shown to you.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإذا قرئ القرآن فاستمعوا له أيها الناس وأنصتوا، لتعقلوه رجاء أن يرحمكم الله به.
