The Holy Quran 7:175 — Surah Al-A'raf

Translation

(O Muhammad ﷺ) Recite to them (the Jews) the incident of the one to whom We gave Our verses (a Jewish scholar called Bal'am bin Baa'oora), but he withdrew from them (discarded the teachings of the Torah). So Shaytaan pursued him and he became of those gone astray. (When Bal'am was bribed to curse Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام he obliged but the ill effects of all his curses fell instead on him and his people.)

Tafsir (excerpt) —
