The Holy Quran 7:167 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ مَن يَسُومُهُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Translation

(Do not forget the time) When your Rabb declared that until the day of Qiyaamah He will definitely (repeatedly) raise against them (the Bani Israa'eel) such people who will inflict them with severe punishment (as a result, there have been many figures in history who were responsible for humiliating the Jews in many ways). Certainly your Rabb is swift in punishing (the wrongdoers) and (at the same time) He is undoubtedly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful (towards the Mu'mineen).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

واذكر -أيها الرسول- إذ علم ذلك إعلامًا صريحًا ليبعثن على اليهود مَن يذيقهم سوء العذاب والإذلال إلى يوم القيامة. إن ربك -أيها الرسول- لسريع العقاب لِمَن استحقه بسبب كفره ومعصيته، وإنه لغفور عن ذنوب التائبين، رحيم بهم.
