The Holy Quran 7:162 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

Translation

So the oppressors from among them changed the words to what was not told to them (they changed the word "Hitta" meaning "forgiveness" to "Hinta", meaning "wheat") so We sent to them a punishment (a plague) from the skies because of their wrongdoing (their treachery and haughtiness).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فغيَّر الذين كفروا بالله منهم ما أمرهم الله به من القول، ودخلوا الباب يزحفون على أستاههم، وقالوا: حبة في شعرة، فأرسلنا عليهم عذابًا من السماء، أهلكناهم به; بسبب ظلمهم وعصيانهم.
