The Holy Quran 7:152 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ

Translation

Verily those who took the calf (for their Ilaah) will surely be struck by the wrath (punishment) of their Rabb and humiliation (disgrace) in the worldly life (those who worshipped the calf were thereafter executed). In this manner do We punish those who invent lies (by regarding others as Allaah's equals).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

إن الذين اتخذوا العجل إلهًا سينالهم غضب شديد مِن ربهم وهوان في الحياة الدنيا; بسبب كفرهم بربهم، وكما فعلنا بهؤلاء نفعل بالمفترين المبتدعين في دين الله، فكل صاحب بدعة ذليل.
