The Holy Quran 7:127 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُۥ لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَـٰهِرُونَ

Translation

The chieftains from the nation of Fir'oun said (to Firoun), "Will you leave Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام and his people to spread corruption in the land (by turning people against you) and to discard you and your gods?" (While regarding Fir'oun to be their highest god, the people of Egypt also worshipped idols) He (Fir'oun) replied, "We shall now kill (all) their sons and allow their daughters to live (as we had been doing previously). (Despite what they do) We still have power over them."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال السادة والكبراء من قوم فرعون لفرعون: أَتَدَعُ موسى وقومه من بني إسرائيل ليفسدوا الناس في أرض «مصر» بتغيير دينهم بعبادة الله وحده لا شريك له، وترك عبادتك وعبادة آلهتك؟ قال فرعون: سنُقَتِّل أبناء بني إسرائيل ونستبقي نساءهم أحياء للخدمة، وإنَّا عالون عليهم بقهر المُلْكِ والسلطان.
