The Holy Quran 6:47 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتَكُمْ إِنْ أَتَىٰكُمْ عَذَابُ ٱللَّهِ بَغْتَةً أَوْ جَهْرَةً هَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

Translation

Say, "Tell me, if Allaah's punishment afflicts you suddenly or openly (when you are expecting it), will anyone besides the wrongdoers (unjust and transgressing) be destroyed (it will certainly be only the wrong-doers who will suffer)?"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قل -أيها الرسول- لهؤلاء المشركين: أخبروني إن نزل بكم عقاب الله فجأة وأنتم لا تشعرون به، أو ظاهرًا عِيانًا وأنتم تنظرون إليه: هل يُهلك إلا القوم الظالمون الذين تجاوزوا الحد، بصرفهم العبادة لغير الله تعالى وبتكذيبهم رسله؟
