The Holy Quran 6:23 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

ثُمَّ لَمْ تَكُن فِتْنَتُهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ وَٱللَّهِ رَبِّنَا مَا كُنَّا مُشْرِكِينَ

Translation

Their only ploy (excuse to evade punishment) then will be to swear, “By Allaah our Rabb, we never committed Shirk!"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ثم لم تكن إجابتهم حين فتنوا واختبروا بالسؤال عن شركائهم إلا أن تبرؤوا منهم، وأقسموا بالله ربهم أنهم لم يكونوا مشركين مع الله غيره.
