The Holy Quran 6:147 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل رَّبُّكُمْ ذُو رَحْمَةٍ وَٰسِعَةٍ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Translation

So if they reject you (O Muhammad ﷺ and speak lies about the message you gave them), then tell them that your Rabb is the possessor of all-embracing mercy (His punishment will therefore not strike immediately and He is always prepared to forgive) and (if you choose not to accept Imaan, then remember that) His punishment will not be turned away from the sinful people.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فإن كذبك -أيها الرسول- مخالفوك من المشركين واليهود، وغيرهم، فقل لهم: ربكم جل وعلا ذو رحمة واسعة، ولا يُدْفع عقابه عن القوم الذين أجرموا، فاكتسبوا الذنوب، واجترحوا السيئات. وفي هذا تهديد لهم لمخالفتهم الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم.
