The Holy Quran 63:9 — Surah Al-Munafiqun

Arabic text

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ

Translation

O you who have Imaan! Let not your wealth and your children (the things of this world) make you neglect Allaah's remembrance (the duties that you owe to Allaah). Those who do this are certainly losers (who will lose the bounties of the Aakhirah).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا أيها الذين صدَّقوا الله ورسوله وعملوا بشرعه، لا تَشْغَلْكم أموالكم ولا أولادكم عن عبادة الله وطاعته، ومن تشغَله أمواله وأولاده عن ذلك، فأولئك هم المغبونون حظوظهم من كرامة الله ورحمته.
