The Holy Quran 62:7 — Surah Al-Jumu'ah

Arabic text

وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُۥٓ أَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Translation

(However,) They shall never wish for death because of the (fear they have for the punishment due to them on account of the evil) actions that their hands have sent forth. Allaah has (complete) knowledge about the (actions and words of) unjust (sinful) people (and will punish them for it).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولا يتمنى هؤلاء اليهود الموت أبدًا إيثارًا للحياة الدنيا على الآخرة، وخوفًا من عقاب الله لهم؛ بسبب ما قدَّموه من الكفر وسوء الفعال. والله عليم بالظالمين، لا يخفى عليه من ظلمهم شيء.
