The Holy Quran 5:99 — Surah Al-Ma'idah

Arabic text

مَّا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ

Translation

The Rasool ﷺ (Muhammad ﷺ) has only to convey (Allaah's messages to people, which he had done most devotedly. He's not expected to force people to accept Imaan). (Furthermore) Allaah knows (all) what you make known and what you hide (and will reward or punish you accordingly).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يبيِّن الله تعالى أن مهمة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم هداية الدلالة والتبليغ، وبيد الله -وحده- هداية التوفيق، وأن ما تنطوي عليه نفوس الناس مما يُسرون أو يعلنون من الهداية أو الضلال يعلمه الله.
