The Holy Quran 5:84 — Surah Al-Ma'idah

Arabic text

وَمَا لَنَا لَا نُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَا جَآءَنَا مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَنَطْمَعُ أَن يُدْخِلَنَا رَبُّنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

Translation

(In response to those who taunted them for accepting Islaam, they said) "How can we not believe in Allaah and the truth that has come to us (when it is so dear to us) and (how can) we (not) desire that our Rabb includes us in the ranks of the righteous ones (in Jannah)?"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقالوا: وأيُّ لوم علينا في إيماننا بالله، وتصديقنا بالحق الذي جاءنا به محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم من عند الله، واتباعنا له، ونرجو أن يدخلنا ربنا مع أهل طاعته في جنته يوم القيامة؟
