The Holy Quran 57:8 — Surah Al-Hadid

Arabic text

وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۙ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ وَقَدْ أَخَذَ مِيثَـٰقَكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Translation

Why is it that you do not believe in Allaah when the Rasool ﷺ is calling you to believe in your Rabb and when He (Allaah) has taken a pledge from you (the Pledge of Alist, with which you bound yourself to His worship) ? If you want to have Imaan (then only will the call of Rasulullaah ﷺ and a reminder of your pledge benefit you).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وأيُّ عذر لكم في أن لا تصدقوا بوحدانية الله وتعملوا بشرعه، والرسول يدعوكم إلى ذلك، وقد أخذ الله ميثاقكم على ذلك، إن كنتم مؤمنين بالله خالقكم؟
