The Holy Quran 50:18 — Surah Qaf

Arabic text

مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ

Translation

Whenever a word escapes (a person's mouth), there is a watcher (observer) ready by him (an angel ready to record whether the word was good or bad).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ما يلفظ من قول فيتكلم به إلا لديه مَلَك يرقب قوله، ويكتبه، وهو مَلَك حاضر مُعَدٌّ لذلك.
