The Holy Quran 4:7 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ ۚ نَصِيبًا مَّفْرُوضًا

Translation

For men (mature and immature) is a share of what (their) parents and relatives leave behind (as inheritance for them), and for women (mature and immature) is a share of what (their) parents and relatives leave behind; whether it (what they leave behind) is a little or a lot. This share is fixed (by Allaah and no person may deprive another of his/her rightful share).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

للذكور -صغارًا أو كبارًا- نصيب شرعه الله فيما تركه الوالدان والأقربون من المال، قليلا كان أو كثيرًا، في أنصبة محددة واضحة فرضها الله عز وجل لهؤلاء، وللنساء كذلك.
