The Holy Quran 4:62 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

فَكَيْفَ إِذَآ أَصَـٰبَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ جَآءُوكَ يَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَآ إِلَّآ إِحْسَـٰنًا وَتَوْفِيقًا

Translation

How will it be (what will these hypocrites do) when a calamity (punishment) afflicts them because of what their own hands do? (They will then be unable to escape punishment.) Then they will come to you taking oaths (saying), "By Allaah! We only intended good and mutual harmony (by referring our disputes to others)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فكيف يكون حال أولئك المناففين، إذا حلَّت بهم مصيبة بسبب ما اقترفوه بأيديهم، ثم جاؤوك -أيها الرسول- يعتذرون، ويؤكدون لك أنهم ما قصدوا بأعمالهم تلك إلا الإحسان والتوفيق بين الخصوم؟
