The Holy Quran 4:5 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

وَلَا تُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلسُّفَهَآءَ أَمْوَٰلَكُمُ ٱلَّتِى جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ قِيَـٰمًا وَٱرْزُقُوهُمْ فِيهَا وَٱكْسُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ لَهُمْ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا

Translation

Do not give the incompetent (dim witted) ones (those who are unable to care for their wealth) any wealth (of theirs) which Allaah has made you guardians of (protect and safeguard their wealth), but feed and clothe them from it and speak kind (consoling) words to them (when they demand to have the wealth).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولا تؤتوا -أيها الأولياء- من يُبَذِّر من الرجال والنساء والصبيان أموالهم التي تحت أيديكم فيضعوها في غير وجهها، فهذه الأموال هي التي عليها قيام حياة الناس، وأنفقوا عليهم منها واكسوهم، وقولوا لهم قولا معروفًا من الكلام الطيب والخلق الحسن.
