The Holy Quran 4:161 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

وَأَخْذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَقَدْ نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ ۚ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

Translation

...because they accepted interest (usury) when they were prohibited from it and because they wrongfully ate (usurped) the wealth of others (using deceitful means). We have prepared an excruciating (extremely painful) punishment for the Kuffaar among them.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وبسبب تناولهم الربا الذي نهوا عنه، واستحلالهم أموال الناس بغير استحقاق، وأعتدنا للكافرين بالله ورسوله مِن هؤلاء اليهود عذابًا موجعًا في الآخرة.
