The Holy Quran 4:114 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

۞ لَّا خَيْرَ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَىٰهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلَـٰحٍۭ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

Translation

There is no good in most of their secret consultations (discussions) except in (the consultations of) him who instructs (people to give) charity, (to do) a good deed or (to take part in) reconciliation between people. Whoever does this seeking Allaah's pleasure (and with no other motives), We shall soon grant him an immense reward.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لا نفع في كثير من كلام الناس سرّاً فيما بينهم، إلا إذا كان حديثًا داعيًا إلى بذل المعروف من الصدقة، أو الكلمة الطيبة، أو التوفيق بين الناس، ومن يفعل تلك الأمور طلبًا لرضا الله تعالى راجيًا ثوابه، فسوف نؤتيه ثوابًا جزيلا واسعًا.
