The Holy Quran 43:42 — Surah Az-Zukhruf

Arabic text

أَوْ نُرِيَنَّكَ ٱلَّذِى وَعَدْنَـٰهُمْ فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِم مُّقْتَدِرُونَ

Translation

Otherwise (if We will), We can show you (during your lifetime) what (punishment) We have promised them, for We certainly have control (power) over them (and can punish them whenever We wish).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فإن توفيناك -أيها الرسول- قبل نصرك على المكذبين من قومك، فإنَّا منهم منتقمون في الآخرة، أو نرينك الذي وعدناهم من العذاب النازل بهم كيوم "بدر"، فإنا عليهم مقتدرون نُظهِرك عليهم، ونخزيهم بيدك وأيدي المؤمنين بك.
