The Holy Quran 40:84 — Surah Ghafir

Arabic text

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا۟ بَأْسَنَا قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَحْدَهُۥ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِۦ مُشْرِكِينَ

Translation

When they saw Our punishment, they said, "We believe in Allaah Alone and reject the partners we ascribed to Him."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فلما رأوا عذابنا أقرُّوا حين لا ينفع الإقرار، وقالوا: آمنا بالله وحده، وكفرنا بما كنا به مشركين في عبادة الله.
