The Holy Quran 40:42 — Surah Ghafir

Arabic text

تَدْعُونَنِى لِأَكْفُرَ بِٱللَّهِ وَأُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَأَنَا۠ أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْغَفَّـٰرِ

Translation

"You call me to disbelieve in Allaah and to ascribe such partners to Him for which I have no justification (no knowledge). On the other hand, I am calling you towards the Mighty, the Most Forgiving." (While you ought to be listening to me, you endeavour to mislead me with you.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

تدعونني لأكفر بالله، وأشرك به ما ليس لي به علم أنه يستحق العبادة من دونه -وهذا من أكبر الذنوب وأقبحها- وأنا أدعوكم إلى الطريق الموصل إلى الله العزيز في انتقامه، الغفار لمن تاب إليه بعد معصيته.
