The Holy Quran 3:76 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

Translation

Yes (they certainly do have an obligation to be honest towards others)! He who fulfils his pledge (all his promises to Allaah and to people) and possesses Taqwa (abstains from corrupt thoughts, despicable actions and mean ethics), then (they should bear in mind that) surely Allaah loves those with Taqwa (and will reward them abundantly).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ليس الأمر كما زعم هؤلاء الكاذبون، فإن المتقي حقاً هو من أوفى بما عاهد الله عليه من أداء الأمانة والإيمان به وبرسله والتزم هديه وشرعه، وخاف الله عز وجل فامتثل أمره وانتهى عما نهى عنه. والله يحب المتقين الذين يتقون الشرك والمعاصي.
