The Holy Quran 3:71 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

Translation

O people of the book! Why do you mix the truth with falsehood (Why do you confuse and contaminate your scriptures by changing their words and meanings) and (why do you) knowingly hide the truth (about the prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ as mentioned in your scriptures)?

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا أهل التوراة والإنجيل لِمَ تخلطون الحق في كتبكم بما حرفتموه وكتبتموه من الباطل بأيديكم، وتُخْفون ما فيهما من صفة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأن دينه هو الحق، وأنتم تعلمون ذلك؟
