The Holy Quran 3:38 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

Translation

At this point (when it occurred to him that just as Allaah can supply Maryam with fruit that are out of season, He can give children to Zakariyya عليه الصلاة والسلام and his wife even though they had passed the age of bearing children) Zakariyya عليه الصلاة والسلام prayed to his Rabb saying, "My Rabb, grant me pure (pious) children from Yourself (by Your grace). Without doubt You hear all prayers (and accept them)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

عندما رأى زكريا ما أكرم الله به مريم مِن رزقه وفضله توجه إلى ربه قائلا يا ربِّ أعطني من عندك ولدًا صالحًا مباركًا، إنك سميع الدعاء لمن دعاك.
