The Holy Quran 39:67 — Surah Az-Zumar

Arabic text

وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ مَطْوِيَّـٰتٌۢ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Translation

They (people in general) have not revered (appreciated or comprehended) Allaah as He deserves to be revered (they do not realise His power and greatness as they ought to). On the Day of Qiyaamah, the entire earth will be in His grasp (control), and the skies will be folded (rolled up) in His right hand (this verse is among the Mutashaabihaat) (metaphorical). He is Pure and Exalted above all that they ascribe as partners to Him.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما عظَّم هؤلاء المشركون اللهَ حق تعظيمه; إذ عبدوا معه غيره مما لا ينفع ولا يضر، فسوَّوا المخلوق مع عجزه بالخالق العظيم، الذي من عظيم قدرته أن جميع الأرض في قبضته يوم القيامة، والسموات مطويات بيمينه، تنزه وتعاظم سبحانه وتعالى عما يشرك به هؤلاء المشركون، وفي الآية دليل على إثبات القبضة، واليمين، والطيِّ، لله كما يليق بجلاله وعظمته، من غير تكييف ولا تشبيه.
