The Holy Quran 39:53 — Surah Az-Zumar

Arabic text

۞ قُلْ يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Translation

Say, "O My bondsmen (servants) who have wronged their souls (by committing kufr or other sins)! Never lose hope of Allaah's mercy (so do not abstain from seeking forgiveness thinking that you will not be forgiven). Verily, Allaah forgives all sins (that are free of kufr and Shirk). Undoubtedly, He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قل -أيها الرسول- لعبادي الذين تمادَوا في المعاصي، وأسرفوا على أنفسهم بإتيان ما تدعوهم إليه نفوسهم من الذنوب: لا تَيْئسوا من رحمة الله؛ لكثرة ذنوبكم، إن الله يغفر الذنوب جميعًا لمن تاب منها ورجع عنها مهما كانت، إنه هو الغفور لذنوب التائبين من عباده، الرحيم بهم.
