The Holy Quran 39:48 — Surah Az-Zumar

Arabic text

وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Translation

(Instead of the wealth and riches they expected to find in the Aakhirah,) The evil of what they earned will become apparent (appear) to them, and they will be enveloped by (the punishment for) what they used to mock.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وظهر لهؤلاء المكذبين يوم الحساب جزاء سيئاتهم التي اقترفوها، حيث نسبوا إلى الله ما لا يليق به، وارتكبوا المعاصي في حياتهم، وأحاط بهم من كل جانب عذاب أليم؛ عقابًا لهم على استهزائهم بالإنذار بالعذاب الذي كان الرسول يَعِدُهم به، ولا يأبهون له.
