The Holy Quran 38:79 — Surah Sad

Arabic text

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

Translation

He (Iblees) said, "O my Rabb! Grant me respite (time to live and mislead people) until the Day (of Qiyaamah) when people are resurrected." (just before the blowing of the Trumpet)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال إبليس: ربِّ فأخِّر أجلي، ولا تهلكني إلى حين تَبعث الخلق من قبورهم.
