The Holy Quran 34:18 — Surah Saba

Arabic text

وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْقُرَى ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا قُرًى ظَـٰهِرَةً وَقَدَّرْنَا فِيهَا ٱلسَّيْرَ ۖ سِيرُوا۟ فِيهَا لَيَالِىَ وَأَيَّامًا ءَامِنِينَ

Translation

Between them and the towns that We blessed (the towns of Shaam to which they travelled for trade), We made several conspicuous (visible on the high way) villages (where they could easily stop over and fulfil their needs) and made their journey in easy stages (so that they could reach a village whenever they needed to eat or rest.) (It was said to them) "Travel peacefully (in security) by them (by these stages) by night and by day (without any fear)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وجعلنا بين أهل «سبأ» -وهم «باليمن» - والقرى التي باركنا فيها -وهي «الشام» - مُدنًا متصلة يُرى بعضها من بعض، وجعلنا السير فيها سيرًا مقدَّرًا من منزل إلى منزل لا مشقة فيه، وقلنا لهم: سيروا في تلك القرى في أيِّ وقت شئتم من ليل أو نهار، آمنين لا تخافون عدوًّا، ولا جوعًا ولا عطشًا.
