The Holy Quran 33:69 — Surah Al-Ahzab

Arabic text

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاذَوْا۟ مُوسَىٰ فَبَرَّأَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا۟ ۚ وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِيهًا

Translation

O you who have Imaan! Do not be like those (the Bani Israa'eel) who hurt Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام (by directing false accusations at him), after which Allaah absolved him of what they said. (Allaah did this because) He (Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام) was extremely honourable in Allaah's sight (Therefore, if you hurt Rasulullaah ﷺ in any way, Allaah will certainly come to his defence because he is even more honourable than Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام in Allaah's sight).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا أيها الذين صدَّقوا الله ورسوله وعملوا بشرعه لا تؤذوا رسول الله بقول أو فعل، ولا تكونوا أمثال الذين آذوا نبيَّ الله موسى، فبرَّأه الله مما قالوا فيه من الكذب والزور، وكان عند الله عظيم القدر والجاه.
