The Holy Quran 33:30 — Surah Al-Ahzab

Arabic text

يَـٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ مَن يَأْتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَـٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ يُضَـٰعَفْ لَهَا ٱلْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ ۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا

Translation

O wives of the Nabi ﷺ! (Just as you are rewarded more than others because of your status), If any of you carries out an open act of foolishness causing hurt to Rasulullaah ﷺ, her punishment will be multiplied twice (as compared to the punishment of other women doing the same). This is simple for Allaah.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا نساء النبي مَن يأت منكن بمعصية ظاهرة يُضاعَف لها العذاب مرتين. فلما كانت مكانتهن رفيعة ناسب أن يجعل الله الذنب الواقع منهن عقوبته مغلظة؛ صيانة لجنابهن وجناب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. وكان ذلك العقاب على الله يسيرًا.
