The Holy Quran 30:41 — Surah Ar-Rum

Arabic text

ظَهَرَ ٱلْفَسَادُ فِى ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُوا۟ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Translation

Corruption (trouble, difficulties, calamities) has appeared (spread) on land and at sea because of the (evil) actions of man and so that Allaah may let them taste (the consequences) of some of their (evil) actions, so that they may (again) adopt Taqwa (and refrain from sin).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ظهر الفساد في البر والبحر، كالجدب وقلة الأمطار وكثرة الأمراض والأوبئة; وذلك بسبب المعاصي التي يقترفها البشر; ليصيبهم بعقوبة بعض أعمالهم التي عملوها في الدنيا; كي يتوبوا إلى الله -سبحانه- ويرجعوا عن المعاصي، فتصلح أحوالهم، وتستقيم أمورهم.
