The Holy Quran 2:8 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

Translation

Among people there are those (the hypocrites) who say, "We believe in Allaah and in the Final Day (in the Day of Qiyaamah)," whereas they are not Mu'mineen (because this belief is not in their hearts).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ومن الناس فريق يتردد متحيِّرًا بين المؤمنين والكافرين، وهم المنافقون الذين يقولون بألسنتهم: صدَّقْنَا بالله وباليوم الآخر، وهم في باطنهم كاذبون لم يؤمنوا.
